The story of a 13-year-old girl hiding with her family from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic has captured our imaginations in books and film and on stage. Now, through movement, music and spoken text, acclaimed dancer and choreographer Mirenka Cechová expresses the cares and delights of this brave teen who was forced to reckon with the extraordinary circumstances of her time. After spending the summer traveling through Beijing, Prauge and New York, the award-winning Cechová -- who was a Fulbright at American University and won a Helen Hayes Award as part of Synetic Theatre's King Lear -- treats D.C. to an emotional exploration of this beloved historical figure in The Voice of Anne Frank.
