The Washington Chorus: Philip Glass' Fifth Symphony

Spanning the entirety of existence, from before the creation of the cosmos to the apocalypse and into paradise, Philip Glass' Symphony No. 5 ("Requiem, Bardo and Nirmanakaya") has been called a "glorious, inspiring work" (Los Angeles Times). The Washington Chorus brings this epic, soaring symphony, inspired by the world's great wisdom traditions, to The Kennedy Center, under the baton of conductor Julian Wachner. To capture the piece's otherworldly sound, the chorus will be joined by the Washington National Cathedral Girl Choristers, five internationally renowned vocal soloists and a full symphony orchestra.
