The Kennedy Center salutes the genius of George Gershwin, one of America's most timeless and beloved composers. In Forever Gershwin, the National Symphony Orchestra will be joined by some of the greatest interpreters of the works of the man who also wrote Rhapsody in Blue, An American in Paris and so many more. Hear pianist Jason Moran, Kennedy Center Artistic Director for Jazz and recipient of a MacArthur "Genius Grant," interpret some of Gershwin's most tuneful compositions, accompanied by guest vocalist José James. Tony-nominated baritone Norm Lewis and soprano Alicia Hall Moran will reprise their acclaimed lead roles in Gershwin's masterpiece Porgy and Bess -- Lewis played Porgy in the show's Broadway revival, while soprano Alicia Hall Moran was Bess during its national tour -- with able assistance from Heritage Signature Chorale.
