As the flagship band of the Black Rock Coalition, Living Colour continues to push the envelope by fusing free jazz, funk, hard rock and heavy metal. The band's 1988 debut album Vivid introduced stunned rock fans to their Grammy-winning hit single "Cult of Personality." The MTV generation couldn't get enough of the New York-based band and their followup album garnered more critical acclaim and yet another Grammy. Singer Corey Glover's searing vocals have kick-started mosh pits across the globe and lead guitarist Vernon Reid's been dubbed one of Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time." After an extended hiatus in the late '90s, Living Colour reformed in 2000 and now they're bringing their signature genre-blending, stereotype-busting hard rock to D.C.'s Howard Theatre.
